A Thesis in Process

Friday, April 13th 10am-12pm; Payton 304

Not sure what a thesis is? Or how to write one? Or which thesis structure is right for you? This workshop will provide you with an opportunity to receive personalized guidance in the group setting. We will look at your paper and help you decide which thesis structure will work for you.

 

Writing Exegetical Papers

Friday, April 20th 10am-12pm; Payton 102

Exegetical papers can be daunting if you are not sure what they are or how to write them. This workshop will clarify the expectations for exegetical assignments and provide guidelines for researching, organizing, and writing exegetical papers. We will discuss the questions and considerations that are central to a “close reading” of Scripture.


Theological Research and Writing

Saturday, April 14th 9am-1pm; Library Computer Lab

Presented by David Allan Hubbard Library and Fuller Writing Center

This workshop will provide a hands-on demonstration of the resources the Library has to offer and how to access them. It will also clarify the difference between types of sources, explain the meaning and importance of research bibliographies, and provide guidance through the five stages of theological research.

Pre-register early, as this workshop is limited to 18 students!

 

Making an Argument

Friday, May 11th 10am-12pm; Payton 304

What is an argument? Why is it important in written work? Come to this workshop to learn how to make an effective argument in your paper. Bring your assignments and written drafts so that we can offer you personalized guidance in the group setting.

 

Finish with Flair

Friday, May 18th 10am–12pm; Payton 304

What goes into a good conclusion? Is it simply restating the thesis? Is it a summary of the paper? Come to this workshop to learn how to write a solid conclusion. Bring your assignments and written drafts so that we can offer you personalized guidance in the group setting.

Join Fuller Writing Center for our “Writing Process” workshop on Thursday, January 19th from 6pm – 8pm in Payton 102. This same workshop will be repeated on Friday, January 20th from 10am-12pm in Payton 302. Workshops are FREE with pre-registration (or $5.00 at the door for resource materials). This workshop will guide you through the stages of the writing process from finding a solid thesis through producing a polished final paper. We will discuss how to focus your writing, organize your arguments, and effectively revise and proofread your paper.

Last Day to Submit Papers for Fall is December 6th!

Fuller Writing Center will be closed for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

Fuller Writing Center will be closed from Friday, December 16 through Monday, January 2. The Writing Center will re-open on Tuesday, January 3. (Please note that due to the Catalyst closure, the Writing Center office is also closed, but we are available via email at writingcenter@fuller.edu.)

The last day to submit papers before Christmas break is Tuesday, Dec. 6. Papers submitted after 1pm on Dec. 6 will not be processed for the Fall quarter.
